WELCOME TO The straight talk
THE STRAIGHT TALK IS A COMMUNITY OUTREACH OUTFIT WHICH IS PRIMARILY COMMITTED TO GIVING POOR CHILDREN ACCESS TO EDUCATION. WE HELP POOR CHILDREN BY OFFERING THEM BOOKS AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL ACCESSORIES .
OF LATE WE ARE CONDUCTING AWARENESS PROGRAMS ON MENSTRUAL HEALTH AMONG POOR GIRLS AND PROVIDING THEM FREE SANITARY NAPKINS, INTIMATE CLOTHINGS TOILETRIES ETC.
LONG STORY SHORT, SINCE IT HAS BEEN OUR OBJECTIVE TO SUPPORT PEOPLE BELOW POVERTY LINE, WE HAVE EXTENDED OUR FIELD OF ACTIONS. NO MORE ARE WE RESTRICTED TO HELPING MARGINALISED CHILDREN BELONGING TO THE WEAKER SECTION OF THE SOCIETY , WE ARE ALSO DOING OUR BIT FOR THE POOR SENIOR CITIZENS LANGUISHING IN SENIOR HOMES. EVEN THE DIFFERENTLY ABLED PEOPLE ARE ALSO OUR BENIFICIARIES .
SOCIALLY COMMITTED AS WE ARE, WE COULD NOT REMAIN SILENT SPECTATORS WHEN OUR FELLOW CITIZENS WERE RAVAGED BY THE VAGARIES OF NATURE LIKE CYCLONES AND FLOODS. WE STOOD BY THEM WITH OUR LIMITED RESOURCES.
IT IS OUR OBJECTIVE TO TOUCH AS MANY LIVES AS POSSIBLE AND MAKE POSITIVE CONTRIBUTIONS IN MAKING THIS SOCIETY MORE HUMANE AND MORE EMPATHETIC.
TST has been in existence since 2016. It is an organisation which belongs to its members, its well wishers and all the poor, the destitute, the downtrodden and the needy to whom TST had the opportunity to reach out in the course of its journey. We have relentlessly tried to pursue our goal through various programmes and hope to continue in this path of service to mankind for long time to come. This work needs feeling and TST serves with care.
Arindam Acharyya, President
TST began its journey in the year 2016 when a group of friends and well meaning people with service in their heart came together to help the needy. We were inspired by the thought and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda who said that service to mankind is service to God. TST attempts to touch the life of those who are in need of food, education, healthcare, through its activities in various urban and rural areas. We have to gratefully acknowledge the support which we have received from innumerable people, schools and organisations during this work. We will not be able to fulfil our mission of connecting lives without their active participation. In the future, we intend to further extend our reach and continue helping people from all sections of society with pleasure.
Nirmal Chandra Saha, Secretary
For all of us who have been associated with TST, it has been a labour of love – not a mere attempt to fulfil one’s duty towards society. We are now joined by a large number of members and well wishers who are holding hands of the needy under the umbrella of TST. This is just not charitable work but fulfilment of our commitment to the scoiety and we expect TST to reach out to a larger number of population over the coming years.
